H.M.S. RAPID.
The Warship Rapid, after an absonce from this port of about 2 months ab the Southern parts of the colony and the outlying islands, arrived on Saturday night from Lyttelton. She left that port) on Monday last, the 9th iasb., coming up tbe coast under easy steam, tine weather prevailing on the trip up. When inside the North Head on Saturday nighb about 6 o'clock, the Rapid, keeping too close to the northern shore of the harbour, grounded on a mud-bank in the vicinity of the torpedo boat anchorage. The tide having been falling for about two hours the warship remained fast, bub was floated ab high tide on Sunday morning, and camo up to her aDchoriigo off the Railway Wharf.
