Paris, July 14. Anarchists at Toulon seb fire to the hold of the iron-clad Carnofc while the vessel was being launched, but the sailois succeeded in quenching the flames. It was only with great difficulty thab the burning of the Carnot was averted. The Anarchists intended to set fire to the stocks during the process of launching, and upset the vessel, by which hundreds of lives would have been lost, but their design was discovered by a watchman the' nighb before the ceremony. Admiral Farre, Minister of Marine, will visit Toulon to institute an inquiry into attempts made to seb lire to the arsenal and whole of the dockyard.
