The South Franklin Mounted Iniantry were also roprcsentod by a detachment. Colonel Goring and Adjutant Granb woro presunt. The Hamilton Light Infantry mustered 38, including their band, and thov piayod the " Dead March " from tho station to tho graveyard in the old Te Awamutu Cemetery, where the deceased was laid to rest alongside his< father and mother, cloae to the graves of many soldiers who were killed during the Maori War. The volunteers returned to Hamilton by special train, for which they had to pay themselves. In tho faofcball match Waikato v. Rotorua, Waikato won by 15 points to nil. F. Bowden got two tries, one of which W. Hammond converted, and Hammond also kicked a goal from a penalty kick and potted a goal from the field. Rotorua was overmatched at every point of the game, und were only twice dangerous, A. Warbrick nearly getting in, bub was held by Stewart, tho full-back. He was within three feet of the line and could nob pub the ball down. Once a native nearly got in, but was grassed by Stewart cloae to the corner flag. Waikato nurprised themselves and their friends by tho game they played, their combination being remarkable, and their condition good. F. Clarkin, for Rotorua, did wonders, but tho back play of their team was disappointing, their passing, of which so much had been heard, being decidedly woak. Mr R. Gxvynne was referee, and performed his dutiea in a satisfactory manner. Mr G. Mellara, of Taupiri, came to the Hospital to-day, having had a serious accident to his right hand with the circular saw at his mill. He has lost the second, third and fourth fingers of his right hand, which had to be amputated,
