MASONIC.

The ordinary meeting of the brethren of Lodge Edon, No. 1,530, E.C., was held on June 26 in the Freemasons' Hall, Karaugahapo Road, when there was a fair attendance. The W.M., Bro. H. Robinson, presided. Bro. W. J. Wrighb waa unanimously elected Worshipful Master clecb; Bro. Cox re-elected Treasurer; Bro. Moore re-elected Tyler. The installation of VV.M. and investiture of officers will take place on the 24th July. On Wednesday, June 13Lh, the installa* tion of the W.M. and officers of Pierca LodKe,No.4BO,LC., Waiuku, was celebrated. There was a large muster of Auckland brethren from several lodges under the English, Irish and Scotch constitutions. The ceremony of installation was conducted very efficiently by Bro. J. R. Hanna, V.W.P.G. Sec. I.C. After Bro. A. Wrighb, P.M., tho VV.M. elect, had been duly installed, he invested his officers for the ensuing ■"ear as follows :—I.P.M., Bro. W. Hall, P.M., R.A. ; S.W., Bro. G. Large; J.W., Bro. G. McPhorson; Secretary and Treasurer, Bro. A. May; Chaplain, Bro. the Rev. H. M. Maynard ; S.D., Bro. S. T. Rossiter; J.D., Bro. G. Hedge; 1.G., Bro. S. Ridgley; Tyler, Bro. S. Holmes; S.S., Bro. & D. Currie; D. of C, Bro. J. Kemp. Bro. J. Rees, P.G.M.1.C., complimented tho retiring VV.M. and the brethren on the excellent way in which the affairs of the Lodge had been conducted during the past) year. After the ceremony was over and the Lodge closed, a ball was held in the Public Hall. The ball proved an immense success in every way. There were 120 present, 65 gentleman. 55 ladies. Messrs Reed and Davie supplied the music in a manner that left nothing to be desired. The catering of Bro. G. Lewis gave entire satisfaction to all. The M.C. part of the. business was very efficiently carried out by Bros. Large and Rossiter. Over a hundred brethren belonging to the recognised Constitutions assembled on Jun9 26 in the Freemasons' Hall to witness the ts2nd installation of a Worshipful Blaster for Lodge Ara 348, I.C. There were 35 Past Masters on the dais, representatives being present from Lodges Prince of Wales, Eden, and Waitemata, 8.C.; St. Andrew and Ponsonby, SC; Lodge of Lighb (Thames), and Pierce (Waiuku), I.C. Bro. G. S. Graham and the officers of the Grand Lodge of England, Bro. W. J. Rees and the officers of the Grand Lodge, Irish Constitution, and tho principal officers of tha Scottish Grand Lodge were also in attendance. Bro. Arthur Wright, P.M., officiated as Installing Master admirably, Bro. P. Whitfcaker, P.M., being installed for a second term of office. The following officers were duly invested: —1.P.M., Bro. A. Hanna.P.M.; S. W.,8r0. C. Arnold ; J.W., Bro. G. Gribbin : D.0., Bro* J. It. Hanna, P.M.; organist, Bro. J. H. Pbilpobt; S.D., Bro. W. Blomfield; J.D.,8r0. E. R. Piggott; Treasurer, Bro. A. Wrighb, P.M. ; Secretary, Bro, Brock, P.M. ; Stewards, Bros. Bagley, Dawson, King, and F. Clark ; 1.G., Bro. H. Oxenharn; and Tyler, Bio. E. Tonge. At the conclusion of the ceremony the brethren adjournod to the lower hall, where a well • spread table awaibed them, Bro. King beiny caterer. The usual toasts were duly honoured, and an interesting musical programme was provided by tha brethren present. There was a very large attendance o* brethren of the New Zaaiaud Constitution at the Freemasons' Hall, Princes-street, on June 17th, when Bro. William McGuire was installed Worshipful Master of Lodge United Service, No. 10 (New Zealand Constitution), for the ensuing year. The Grand Lodge waa represented by Bros. Malcolm Niccol, Alfred Kidd, George Fowlds, Dr. Walker, and T. Thomas. Tbo Lodge was duly openod by Bro. A. Erickson, the retiring W.M., who efficiently performed the duties of Installing Master. Bro. J. W. Ellison, P.AI., of Lodge United Service, was Director of Coremonies, and he carried out his many dubiea in a faultless mannor. Tho presenting officers were Bro?. 11. Dell uud H. A. Ellison, P.M., and after tho usual ceremonies Bro. McGuire was duly installed into tha chair of King Solomon. Subsequently, tha newly-installed Master invested his officers a3 follows;—S.W., Bro. M. H. Keosing; J.W., Bro. VV. L. Chrystal; Treasurer, Bro. L. H. Neumegen; Secretary, Bro. T. W. Alien, P.M. ; Director of Ceremonies, Bro. J. W. Ellison, PH.; S.D., Bro. G. B. Thwaitea; J.D., Bro. A. 0. Carter; 1.G., Bro. T. C. Owen; S.S., Bro. C. Pelham; J.S., Bro, A. Rhodes; Tyler, Bro. E. Tonge. The addresses to the W.M., Wardens? and brethren were delivered respectively by Bros. Fowlda, T. W. Allen and M. Niccoi, while the working tools in the different! degrees were presented by Bros. Y>. MeCullough, Ohltion and W. H. Brown. It was agreed to send a letter of condolence from tho combined lodges to the wife and brother of the lato Bro. H. E. Kennedy, who recently met with such a shocking death. The retiring VV.M. was then presented with si handsome Past Master's jewel in recognition of his pervices uHi-ing his term of office to Lodge United Service.
