SPRUNG A LEAK,
THE 'VESSEL BEACHED.

Masterton, this day. The Auckland schooner Sovereign, owned by tbe Auckland Kauri Timber Company, from Mercury Bay to Wellington, sprung a leak on Saturday nights, and, being unable to weabher Castlepoint, was beached ab VVaitaikuna on Sunday, in order to save the crew's lite. All hands are safe ab Waitakuna. The vessel has a cargo of timber.
