' ' No Evidence Offered.—John Henry Smith was charged that he did on the 25th May, 1894, ab Auckland, knowing, the same to be forged, use a certain document or writing, bearing date the 21st April* 1894, purporting to be a receipt signed by James Eeid, for the purpose of obtaining the sum of £10 from one Geo. Patterson, of Ponsonby, saddler.—Sergb. Lyons asked for a further remand in the case.—Mr O'Meagh&r for the accused objected and asked that the case be struck out.—Jas. Reid, whs laid the information, said the case was in the hands of the police; It was a criminal charge, and he thought after he had laid the charge the Crown would take it up.—Mr O'Meagher eub-' mitted that there was no case before'the Court.—No evidence being offered, the case was struck out. ; " :: \ No Appearance.— Philip McCrotfjiij) called to answer a charge that aboWfche 14bb June he did assault and beab Ely Blake.
