HANGED IN A POLICE CELL.

Ashbc&ton, this day, A man named Geo. Henry Smith, arrested on Saturday afternoon on a charge of horse stealing, was found dead in the police cell this morning. He had hanged himself from a bolt-ring in the cell door, using a handkerchief and a bit of calico a foot long. Ib was.» moat determined suicide, as the man could have saved himself at any time by simply putbin&r his feet to the Boor. To accomplish bis object ho had to keep his knees firmly bent.
