H.M.9. Wallaroo left for Wellington lasb night. The schooner Awanui sailed last night for East) Coast ports and Giaborne. The ship Forfarshire, which lefb this port for London on the 19th of March last, has made a smart passage Homo of 86 day?. The purchasers of the wrecked ship Jessie Readman at the Chatham Islands do nob intend to make any effort to float her, bat she will be dismantled and the gear brought to Wellington for Bale. Some smart work in discharging the barquentine Waitemata's cargo of coa* from Newcastle was witnessed yesterday at the Hobson - street wharf. The vessel started discharging yesterday morning at 11 o'clock; to-day the Waitemata was ready to proceed to Kaipara for timber after having .discharged over 500 tons of coal and taken in 80 tons ballast, stores, etc. This is far and away the record for coal ships, and it is a credit to the port that prompt despatch can be given when required. The Waitemata was towed oat of the harbour this afternoon sailing for Kaipnra to ship timber for Sydney, after which she proceeds to Newcastle to take in a cargo of coal for this port).
