OUR BOWLERS.
The bowling season is now approaching a termination, and probably, weather permitting, tbe last day's play will take place on the 24th May. Several trophy matches have yeb to be played off. In this connection ib may be mentioned that Mr A. Stewart, the senior skip of the Auckland Bowling Club, and the "hero of forty tournaments," has won the trophy of the season, tbo champion bowls, after a series of well contested matches. We understand that certain changes aro in contemplation iv connection with the Auckland Club's ground, the trustees of which are Messrs Mackechnie, Tait, Kirkwood, Wiuks and Bell.
The following matches were played at the Auckland Bowling Clnb green, Grafton Road, on Saturday afternoon last:—No. 1 Riuk : Lawson, Rhodes, HeroD, Hooper (skip), 20, v. Mennie, PoDaford, Carlaw Miller (skip), 15. No. 2 Rink : Hardio, Hart, Payne, Gorrie (skip), 18 v. Holder, Carson, Ledingham, Oliphant (skip), 19. No. 3 Rink : Jones, Arnold, Ross, Stewart (sfcip), 24, v. Patterson, McCallum, Pirie, Thomson (skip), 15.
