Changes are again taking place in the Police Force. Constable Peter Rowe, of Lyttelton, comes to Auckland, and Gunner Oliphant, from Fort Cautley, is to be transferred to the local police in a day or two. Constable Nixon goes to Wanganui. A vacancy exists at Dargaville owing to the retirement of Constable McCoy.

Messrs Wriggl63worth and Binns, the enterprising artist photographers, QueenBfcreob, notify that their 2s 6d deposib scheme has been extended for six days longer. It is cerbain thab the above photographers avo making such alterations and improvements as to ensure perfect art work. No doubb tho deposit system will work most agreeably.

The Waikomiti Brass Band hold a concert and dance in tho New Lynn school on Friday evening. Mr W. C. Thompson presided at the concert. Among the items, we're songs by Mrs Hepburn ("Killaniey" and " Once More ") and Mr Kelly (♦' Happy Moments " and " Maid of the Mill"). Herr Zimmermani! contributed several selections on the violin, atjd Mr A. .Nichol Bang "That is Love" and "Coming Thro'the Rye." Several selections were given by the band under the leadership of Bandmaster Levy.

The Pukekohe Musical Society gave their first concert in the Masonic Ball, Pukekohe, on Friday evening, April 27tb, under the conductorßhip of Mr J. Fisher, Miss Smith being the accompanist. Major Harris, M.H.R. (President of the Society) occupied the chair. The instrumentalists, Misses Latnan, Warner, Beloe, and Master H. Robinton (violin), and Mr Webster (fluto), rendered some creditable performances, tha violin duet by Misses Laman and Beloe being specially worthy of mention. The concerted part of the programme was well given. The soloists of the evening wore Mrs Pilgrim, Misses Bell and Laman, Dr. Carolan and Mr E. Wright. These ladies and gentlemen were all well received. Mrs Pilgrim's solo, "Carrier John," was loudly applauded. She retired amidst a shower of bouquets, aud for tho encore responded with "Home, Deario Home" in, her usual cultured manner. Miss Bell gave " Culler Herrin'" in fine style, the audience demanding an encoro. Dr. Carol&n's song, " With all her Faults I Love her Still," was well given and received an encore. Miss Gribble recited the " Bridge Keeper's Story " in true elocutionary style. The programme was brought) to a conclusion by Mr Nairn, of Auckland, who amused the audience immensely with his vontriloquial powers. This talented gentleman kindly gave his services, aud received a most cordial voto of thanks at the close. A vote of thanks to Major Harris, M.H.R., followed by the singing of " God Save the Queen," concluded the entertainment, and the people retired, feeling they had received value for their shilling.—Own Correspondent.)
