Hamilton*, this day. In the cases the Polioe v. Gordon, ab the police Courb to-day, Constable Forbes applied to withdraw the cases charging defendanb with wilfully setting fire to a Maori whare. He said that he had no further evidence to bring forward than that in the firsb case, in which he failed bo obtain a conviction. The two informations weye withdrawn accordingly. Mr 0 Neill, solicitor, appeared for Mr Gordon, and stated thab important business kept the defendant away from Hamilton, so he could not attend the Court. This ends all bhe trouble in connection with the burning. Greab interest is being taken by the children of Hamilton West School in the Chrysanthemum Show at Cambridge, and over thirty bouquets were senb away today by train to compete for school prizes, many of them being of bigb merit,
