AMERICAN SHIPPING.
Messrs R. V\. Forbes and Son, in their monthly report dated March 31st, state that charters are higher, both for large and small vessels. Freights for New Zealand are especially scarce, necessitating a reduction in tonnage. The price quoted for New Zealand is (nominally) 22c.
