Drunkenness.-Ot-car William Eslandson was tiued 10a, or 48 hours' hard labour, for a second otience of drunkenness. Stealing Boots. ,— Thomas Atkinson Hea H 8 pleaded guilty to having stolen one pair of boots, value 5s 6d, bhe property of J. VV. Dimock. Ho waa sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour. Remanded. — William McDonald was charged with having, ab Horse Shoe Bush, obtained throe pairs of boots and o c flannel from Thomas Koliy by false pretences.—Mr N. G. Brassey appeared for the complainant, ond obtained a remand.— William' John McGowen pleaded nob guilty to the charge of having stolen a waterproof, worth £2, the property of VYm, de R-Turner.— On tho application of Sergeant Gamble, the accused waa remanded. Bail waa ailowed the accused iv two sureties of £10 each, and hia own for £20.

Harbour Regulations. — David Rotinsoii was charged with having driven two horses and a vehicle on the wharf at other than a walking pace.—tie pleaded guilty, bub abated that one horse was walking fast, while the other had to go at a jog trot to keep up with him.—Mr'tvussell appeared on behalf of the Harbour Board.—Defendant wa6 fined Is and costs.

Rival Jeuus. — Michael Keonan way charged with having on the 6th of April used insulting language towards Thomas Bowden.—Defendant pleaded not guilty, and was represented by Mr Theo. Cooper, whilo Messrs F. E. Baume and G. Putchas appeared for the complainant. The evidence was lengthy and of a coflicting character, aa a number of witnesses were called on oach side.—The defendant denied having used the insulting language, and called a number of witnesseß to support hia statement. —There were still a number of witneaaea for the defence awaiting examination whon we went bo presa.
