SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
■ NEWMARKET. The annual reporb of the Newmarket School Committee, to be presented to the householders on Monday evening next, states that the attendance ab bho School has in- -■ creased during the year. The Committee regreb the removal of Mr Dickson, first assistant, who.proved himself to be- a most capable teacher. The drainage of the school grounds had proved a greater expense than was anticipated, owing to tbe rock in the ground. The Committee protest againsb the frequent removal of teachers; and also object to the curtailment of the school funds by the Board of Education. The scientific apparatus received from the Board of Education has been of greab assistance to teachers and benefit to pupile. Mr W. H. Pooley, Secretary, retires from the office wibh theoutgoing Committee, of which Mr Holmes is Chairman. The expenditure for the year had been aboub £90, and-there is a balance in band of £2 17s. REMUERA. ' The following gentlemen have been nominated as members of the Remuera School Committee:—"Messrs T. Buddie, J. B. Cruickshank, H..M. Carpenter, J. R. Gray, W. Holden, W. Dinnison, W. Parker, T. Finlayson, and J. M. Lennox.
