MR HOOPER AT HAMILTON
The members of the Hamilton Lawn Tennis [■ Club and their friends had an opportunity of witnessing the best game of tennis ever played on their court, when Mr Badilly, . of Kihikihi, met Mr j. Hooper, of Auckland, 6nd played two sets. The hr*t set was particularly close and interesting up to Seven all, and then Mr Hooper had aft easy win for his eighth game, but the last was ! hotly contested, and, won only after a greab number of deuces. Both players weire '. loudly applauded, and played welt up to their beat form, most of those present being surprised at) the great proficiency I Shown by Mr Badilly, especially Bgainab r euch a doughty opponent as Mr Hooper. In the second eet Mr Badilly was S-2, bub 'apparently he tired off,, and Mr Hooper won, 6-8. Messrs Singleton and BadiUy, ! of Kihikihi, were beaUn by Alessrs J. Hilt and W. Yon Sfcufmer, Hamiltoh. 7-^3, '' 6-4, and Mr Badilly beat Mr J» Hill in a 1 single, 0-4.—(Hamilfcon correspondent,)
