King, Engel and McUullach (Limited) v. King, •■'» alker and Co.—This was a claim ta recover £70 3s lld on two promissory notes. —Mr Campbell appeared for plaintiff, and Mr S. Hesketh for Mr W. C. Walker.—Max Fliess deposed to being: tbe representative in the colony and of New Zealand of the plaintiffs. The power of attorney was in Wellington. The defence submitted by Mr Hesketh wae thab there was no evidence to phow thab, Fliess had been authorised by bhe Company to institute proceedings in its name, a power of attorney not being produced by him ; further, that the action was improperly broughb in the name of tho Company, and ought to have been brought by a person appointed by the Company. The case was argued at length. Mr Northcroft reserved his decision. Wm. St. George v. Mrs" Tobias.—Claim, £2 16s.—The claim was made up of board and lodging at 10s per week, attendance ab Courb and money paid into Courb, and 2s four four boxes of cigarettes.—Judgment 1 was piven for the amount claimed, with costs 6s.—The Dartios appeared in person. Maria Palmer v. Lizzie Burton.— Claim, £9 9s ,2.d, goods supplied.-Mr Burton appeared for plaintiti, and Mr Brassey for defendant.— Judgment was given ior plaintiff, wibh cosbs £2 8s 6d.
