A BLOW AT UNIONISM
Sydney, February 18. The new constitution for trades unionism which wna adopted ab tho Ballarab Conference in 1891, providing for District Councils, Provincial Councils, and Australian Councils, has been adopted by Queensland, and has made considerable progress here. Ib will" become a serious menace bo bhe existence of the Trades and Labour Council, aa certain unions have already withdrawn, causing diminution cf TradesCouncil funds. The latter body waited on the Shearers' Conference and asked whether ib conld be formed inbo District Council for Sydney. The shearors replied that if they formed a District Council in bho northern colliery district, and anobhor in^jio southern colliery district, these, in conjunction with tho Shearors' Diabricb Council, could form Syduoy into a Provincial Council.
