'■" vi DEFENDED CASES. A. J.>*3ntbican and Co. v. John Angelo and Mary Ann Angelo (of Whanearei.)—This was a claim for £5 3s, goods aold and delivered.—Mr M. McGregor appeared for plaintiff. The evidence of defendants :had been taken at Whangarei.— John Angelo admitted the claim, bub said all the property belonged to his wife. He said in his evidence thab he owned nothing. —Mary Ann Angelo. who had separate estate, disputed her liability. Evidence was given on behalf of plaintiffs, and His Worship gave judgment against both defendants with £1 15s costa. His Lordship Bishop Lock v. G. Barry. —This was a claim to recover £25 (but was amended to £20), balance of rent for use and occupation of land ab Sb. Johns College, East Tamaki.—Mr Mahony appeared for plaintiff and Mr Brassey for defendant.—W. C. Cosaar, in the employ of Hill and Mahony, eolicitors, gave evidence as to the amount paid ther firm by defendant on behalf of plaintiff.—Bishop Luck also gave evidence. —The defendant also made a long statement.—His Worship gave judgment for £20, with costs £3 Is. Trade Auxiliary Company v. A. Miller and Robert Hardy.—This was a claim for £2 17s 8d amount due for subscription to the " Mercantile Gazette.''—The amount of the claim was reduced to £2 2s lOd, one item of the account being, struck out. Judgment was given for plaintiff company for £2 2a 9d, and £1 18s costs.—Mr Burton appeared for the plaintiff company, and Mr Gittoa for defendant. .',,.
