On Friday nighb an entrance waa effected by somo person into the promisee of H. The sum in the safe was much larger, but, fortunately for Mr Atkins; thab receptacle was nob broken into, or else resisted any efforts.in that direction. The manner of entry was daring and cool in the extreme. The burglar mounted the roof of the block, and breaking a hole through the slatea, cut a piece out of bhe rafters and descended onto the ceiling of tho shop. He again gained hia way through, knocking down the laths and piaster, and reached the floor by means of the ahelvings. He left his implements behind, as they had been borrowed withoub leave from the black* smith's shop in the rear. The sum of aboub £1 was all that the till contained, and with this meagre amount the thief had to be satisfied. So far no one has been arrested
