Tbe e.s. Tasmania arrived in port: this morning, shortly after 6 o'clock. The purser reports leaving Sydney at 4.30 p.m. on January 31sb, clearing the Heads the same- evening ab 5.15 ,* passed Capo Maria Van Diemen ab7.30 January 4th, arriving as above. She experienced head winds and rough sea on February 1 and 2, and after thab variable winds and fine weather to arrival. Tho Tasmania leaves for the South at 5 o'clock bhis afternoon.
The Union Company's sbeamer Mararoa arrived alongside the Queen-sbreeb Wharf Bhorbly before 10 o'clock this morning. The purser reports leaving the Company's wharf ab 10.40 a.m., February 1, making the Three Kings at 4 p.m., February 4, and arriving as stated above. The firsb two days were marked by fresh southerly winds, lowering skies and passing rain, with a heavy cross sea, which however moderated on nearing this coasb, the weather remaining bright until arrival.
