Wrecked Near French Pass.
Only Ono Man Saved.

NINE LIVES LOST.
Nelson, Sunday. Tub barque Gazolle, 336 tons, from Rocky laland to Lyttelton, was wrecked near the French Pass early on Saturday morning, The captain of the s.s. Grafton, which arrived to-night, reports that nine lives were loet, one man only being saved. Merely spars are lefb on bho rocks. A steamer ia leaving ab midnighb for the acene. Four bodies have been washed up. Tho Gazelle was built at Glasgow in 1877 by A. Stephen and Sons, and waß originally known as the George Knox. Her length i 8 143*5 feeb, breadth 27*1 feet, and depth 13*4. She wa3 registered ab Inverdargill ten years ago. in 1884. She ia owned by Mr Walber S. Waterston.
