Onehunoa. Mayoralty.—ln regard to the election of Mrs Yates to the Mayoralty of Onehunfa, "Observer" writes asking if the Municipal Corporations Act makes it legal for a woman to sit as mayor. "Observer" is under the impression that it does nob. In reply, we would point out that thero is nothing in the Act which excludes a woman on account of her sex from becoming mayor. The use of the masculine pronoun in the wording of the Act is evidently what has misled 11 Observer."
