Gambo, Lobengnla's son-in-law, was severely wounded in the atback on Major Adams' column.
London, November 9.
The " Pall Mall Gazette " mentions an unconfirmed report that anobher Ticbory has been gained by bhe Victoria and Salisbury columns over the Matabele, and eayi ib is rumoured in Capetown that Lobengula has been captured. Mr Gladstone, speaking in the House of Commons, declared that the Government would treat the Matabele natives with jusbice, humanity and mercy.
Mr Morley, speaking at Manchester, said the Government, in arranging the Mababele difficulty, would be careful to respect the strong sentiment existing in Gape Colony.
