Timaru, this day. Mr Thos. Leys, a farmer not much known in public life, is a candidate for Pareora in the Governmenb iuteresb.
The electoral roll for the city will be completed in all likelihood thia week. The Registrar, Mr Halyday, and his assistant are busy at their work, and have already completed bhe roll as far as bhe letter *"M." Those electors whose names are included under the letters already deait wibh may now have an opportunity of ascertaining for themselves whether they have been enrolled. To-nighb Mr E. Mitchelson pitches hU camp at Gladsbone Hall, Northoobe, where he will address the electors of Eden.
This afternoon, at half past bwo, Sir George Grey addressed himself specially to the ladies of his electorate in Waite's Hall, Mount Eden. , Ib is understood bhat the date of the Maori elections will be fixed for a few days before the general election.
