JUVENILE BALL.
Last evening, the juvenile fancY dress ball in connection with Miss Scotfi's popular dancing classes took place in stbe Choral Hall, and was in every way a greab success. The spacious hall was crowded vrith juvenile dancers, all attired in fancy costumes, some of which were very tasteful aod handsome, and there was also a large number of spectators present. The interior of the ball was very prettily decorated with §agß, etc. About 100 couples were on the floor. The grand march of the pupils was a very pretty sight. After -various movements, tb» children passed through a handsome arch of lilies and ivy—four deep—*nd then two tiny boys were presaged by two you.*]f ladies with two J&\ an~*e umbrellas, wbi<p they held over their two sipall partners. The spectators remarked the exc3llent # Behaviour of so many, and especially praised the deportment of the little P? 0?! 0" The special dances were a Spanish Cacnucni* danced by twelve young ladies withytom* bourinos and twenty children wm '^Mt*J nets. This was particularly bright ana pretty, and was greatly enjoyed by tie performers, who "had to respon^ to a vociferous encore. Fedora, a o^rb danca by 40 pupils, followed, and was a very pretty sight, the soft skirtß and grace.tul movements of so many making a charming picture. Here again an enApre was demanded and responded to, and later in w» evening the dance had to be repeated » third time. A court minuet by scbi dren was also encored, and the French cotillon by three sets was very well danced. Burkes Band supplied the mu«e and MJ Phillips did the catering. The orches to* platform and the gallery were filled watn spectators, some 500 being present during | the evening. The ball was, on the whole, an admirable one,, and the beautiful danaereflected the greatest credit on Miss HCW* J who had evidently taken the. greatest ol 'pains with heryoangpupils. '
