Tho report then went on to state: "Tholawn was opened for play last year on tho 29th Octobor, and being favoured with a fine day an unusually large number of visitors took advantago of the invitation to visit the lawn, where the triplo attractions, of music, tennis and tea wore provided for what was probably the largest number of visitors that we have yet had on our ground. We may again congratulate ourselves on having among our members both tho Auckland champions — Miss Spiors, who after some very hard fought battles, especially ao in the final whon 6ho mot and vanquishod Miss Nicholson, has bocorao the first holder of tho Ladios' Challongo Championship Cup; and Mr J.
