Mrs May, relict of the late Mr Joseph May, of Mount Roßkill, is dead. She waa a very old colonist, having, having arrived here in IS4O by tho ship Delhi, from Glasgow. She had attained tbe age of 69 years.
Ab the meeting of the Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon ib was abated thab one man in the fish trade was in the habib of depositing twelve cart loads of fishheads and other refuse each week in the harbour.
The Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon decided to take steps to prosecute persons guilty of depositing fish-heads and other refuse in Auckland Harbour, and to prevenb the nuisance in future. Ib was also decided bo erecb notice boards on the foreshore forbidding bhis practice.
At bhe meeting of bhe Auckland Harbour Board yesterday afternoon, Mr Niccol moved, " Thab provision be made for lighting tho landing steps ab Victoria Wharf, Devonport, either by moving one of the existing lamps or supplying another." The motion was agreed bo, and ib was decided to erect a new lamp in order to obviate accidents.
