THE LIQUOR QUESTION.
PROHIBITION LEAGUE MEETING.
A meeting of members and intending members of the Prohibition League was convened for 7,30 o'clock last evening in the Wesley Hall. It was not, however, until a quarter to 8 that the proceedings commenced afc which time 23 persons wero present;. Mr W. Kerr presided, and in opaning the meeting said that they had met for the purpose of considering matters in connection with the Prohibition League and other important questions. At this stage, a gentleman stepped up and whispered to the Chairman, who then said that the meeting was for members of the Prohibition League, and if any representatives of the press wero present, they would understand that the proceedings were of a private naturo. whereupon the representative of the Evening Stak retired.
