THE HOUSE OF LORDS.
ITS ABOLITION DEMANDED. London', September 19. The Liberal Federation passed a reso" kuion, with enthusiasm, regretting the want of patriotism and the prejudiced conduct ot the House of Lords in rejecting the Home Rule Bill, whereby they have displayed conduct similar to that shown over other reforms during the century, and made themselves a grievous hindrance to good government. The resolution ended by declaring that the House of Lords ought to be abolished. Lord Carrington wrote a letter approving of the views of the Federation. Mr Clough, M.P. for Portsmouth, urged that if the House of Lords is not abolished, it ought to be re-constructed on ,an electoral basis.
