Wellington, this day. The Women's Franchise has nob passed its final ordeal as yet. Up to the present timo the Electoral Bill has not been sent to the Governor for his assent.
Petitions against granting the franchise to women continue to arrive, the latest being forwarded to the Hon. Mr Fergus by the Mayors of Queenstown and Cromwell, as representing public meetings held in these towns. These were presented to the Governor by Mr Fergus to-day. A petition from Dunedin is on its way, containing 4,000 signatures.
