THE AUCKLAND SAVINGS BANK. STATEMENT BY THE TRUSTEES. The Trustees of the Auckland Savinga 'Bank assure the Depositors thab the alarm manifested by Depositors is entirely groundless, The position of the Bank is absolutely safe and unassailable. The rumour that the Bank has susbained losses through the suspension of the Loan and Mercantile Agency Company is absolutely false. The Bank has nob now, and never had, any shares in or deposits with, thab Company, or shares in any other institution or company whatsoever. The whole of the liabilities of the Bank arerepresented by unimpeachable securities. There is immediately available for payment of Depositors the large amount of £274,000 in Government Securities and Cash Deposits, Besides this, thero is invested in firstclass mortgages £254,641. The Bank has resources amounting to £549,420, including a Resorvo Fund in excess of its liabilities of £30,000.
