THE STEER CASE. At the R.M. Court at Hamilton yestorday, in the steer case, Hunter v. Lowis, claim £80 15s, adjourned for decision from last Courc, judgment was given for plaintiff for £75 15s, costs £27 7s. Mr Hay for plaintiff, and Mr O'Neill for defendant. Mr O'Neill gave notice of appeal. Lequesnev. E. Smith, claim, £61. Judgment for amount and costs.

THE LATE MR JOHN MAKTYN. The funeral of the late Mr John Martyn was largely attended yesterday, the intermonfc taking place in tho Tamahcre comefcory. The funeral service was impressively rendered by the Yen. Archdeacon Willis, assisted by the Rev. Mr Symonds. A ->ervice wa3 conducted at Torr View before proceeding to tho cemetery.
