Something like 1,300 blcoma wree on exhibition, from the giant size down to the diminutive garden sort. Messrs D. Bay and .Son's exhibits were a feature of the snow, and this firm has secured the moat awards, besides being ab top in the open classes. They likewise won the championship, which was determined by the open and amateur prize, exhibits in the certificate classes being: judged 'together The winner is entitled to have his name engraved upon, and to hold till April 1 18 Q/ f Dewoa' Challenge Cup, and will re- ■ ciiveVßilvmN.CS. medal. Among the blooms on exhibition are Japanese varieties exhibited at the last English November ?how, viz., the International, W. Tricker, Gloirede Rocher, Miss Anna Hartshorn,; fiviand Morel, Mrs Langtry, Stanstead ; White, and Mrs Molyneaux. Tim National Chrysanthemum Society's jertificate in the opeD class was gained by D Hay and Sons, and in the amateur class by J. W. Tibbs, with Mr T. Wells, of Cambridge, a close second. . In opening the show, Lord Glasoow said that now tbati the method of freezing fiowere has been discovered, he hoped that some of them would be sent to England to show what can be done in New Zealand. New Zealand seemed to occupy the peculiar position of having few flowers of its own, bat this was compensated for by the many varieties imported from oilier countries. Around the houses in New Zealand were displays of flowers which surpassed what was to be seen in any other part of the world.
