Tiif Whangarei County Council held its monthly meeting on Wednesday April 12th It was resolved to hand over to the Kamo Town Board the portion ot the road running through Kamo. Home discussion ensued re charitable aid contribution, and it was resolved that as the County was in debt thoy inquire if half contribution would be accepted, Out it was finally reap ved to pass tho whole amount, to bo paid when funds were available. The Whangarei Harbour Board are to bo congratulated on possessing such an energetic chairman as Mr A. H. Mason. The Whangarei Philharmonic Society resumed practice on Tuesday, April 18, with Mr H. Dobbia as conductor. The piqeeg selected were " Alcestos," and a cantata entitled "Rebecca."
