AUSTRALIAN BANKING.
THE LONDON CHARTERED BANK, j London, April 18. The shares of the London Chartered Bank of Australia are quoted at £7. Shares closed at £Q 10s yesterday; Sir J. F. Garrick, who was interviewed with the full concurrence of tho other members of the Board of Directors, said that the fall in shares was due to uneasiness, owing to the liability of shareholders to future calls. The bank was amply provided aeainsb all contingencies without trenching on the reserve, which mainly consisted of consols.
