After going to prea3 yesterday the follow ing business was transacted :—

Statement of Funds.—To balance in Bank, £9,497 4s 2d ; cash on hand, £41 14s 4d ; total, £9,538 18s 6d. By accounts ordered to be paid, £1,185 10<* 8d ; less accounts already paid, £204 2s 7d—£9Bl 8a Id ; total, £8,557 10s sd. Cash on tixed deposit, £4,500 ; balance (cr.), £13,057 !0d ad.

Finance and Legal Committee Accounts. — The Committee recommended tho payment of accounts to the value of £1,185 10s Bd.— lit a letter from Msssrs Leyland and O'Brien requesting the Board to effect the necessary repairs to the allotment occupied by them, the Committee recommended that legal opinion be taken in the matter. Temporary occupation cf allotments : The Committee recommended that the otfer of Messrs McLuan Bros. of £4 for the half - yearly tenancy of allotment 19 Mechanic's Bay be accepted subject to three months' notice of termination ot tenancy. An oiier having been received from Mrs Hoopor of £3 per annum for allotment 4, Mechanic's Bay, the Committee recommended that the ground be ottered to Mr Hodgson for£4 per annum, with three months' notice of termination of tenancy. In reference to an offer of £10 per annum made by Messrs Kich and Dimery for allotment 94, Customsstreet East, the tenancy to be subjoct to three months' notice, and tho tenant to have the right to remove any Bhed or office erected thereof, the Committee recommended that occupation cf tho allotment be allowed at a rental of £4 per quarter, with one month's notice of termination of tenancy. The.Committee recommended that Messrs \V. and Or. Winsfcone be allowed the occupancy of allotment 107, Custom-street East, at a rental of £4 per quarter, subject to one month's notice of termination of tenancy. Messrs Winatone only offered £10 per annum for the ground. Me a memorandum from the Foreman of Works stating that Clause 17 of the Board's general conditions of contract was contrary to the provisions of the Lien Act, the Committee recommended that the opinion of the Board's solicitor* be obtained on the matter. Dredging at Railway Wharf: The Foreman of Works having submitted an account against the Auckland City Council for dredging at the Railway Wharf, an outlet to tho main sower, the Committee recommended that tho account bo forwarded to the City Council for payment. Arrears of rent : The Committee re solved " That a copy of the list of rents in arref.r at December 31st, be furnished to each member of the Committee to show the length of time the rent was in arrear.
