There has been good inquiry for potatoes. Prime kidney realised £5 to £5 10s per ton ; medium lots, £4 to £5; Shepherds, £3 10s to £4 ; Port Fairoy, £4 15s to £5 ss. Onions sold freely at Id to l^d. Grain -. wheab, whole, 3s per bushel; broken, 2s 6d ; short,feed oats, 2s 4d to 2s 6d; maize, 3s 6d, ex store; bran and sharps, 3s 9d. Fresh butter still arrives in poor condition, and selling ab from 6d to 7d, according to quality. A large shipment is being made for the English market afc an average value of 7d for good quality in new packages. Egga sold as high as Is 2M and Is 3d per dozen. Fruit: Heavy supplies with ■strong demand, gooseberries sold at 2s 9d to 4a per case of 251b ; local plums, 10s per case of 201b; lemons, 9s to 15s 9d per case; and one hoavy case realised 25a 9d. Hothouße tomatoes fetched from 7d to 8d ; others, 5d to 6d ; grnpes, Is 6d to Is B.{d per lb; large cooking apples, new crop, realised from 7s 6d to 10s 9d per case; Irish .peach, 7s to 9s 6d per case. Sydney fruit ex Tarawera Bold well. Apples fetched 6s lOd to 7s per case ; plums, 5s 6d to 6s; oranges, lla to Us 3d; cherries, 8s 9d per case of 181b ; local pears sold at from 4d to 61d per pound.
