THE AGRICULTURAL SHOW.
TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS,
To-day is what may be termed the day for the public. A good number were on the ground during the morning, and they gradually increased during the day. There is every prospect of a monstrous attendance this afternoon. The Artillery Band is on the ground, and at intervals are playing a number of musical selections. The following awarda were made this morning:— Beat Half-Hundredweight of Early Potatoes.—Mr W. S. Laurie's special prize was awarded to Mr J. R. Stych. wows. Judge :Mr D. McNicol. Stewards : Messrs A. Anderson and K. Hall. The trial of sheep dogs took place at 10 o'clock this morning, and resulted as fallows:—
Best Sheep Dog to pen three sheep ("field trial.")—lst, .1. H. Davis, Kauio, Mack slut Towsey, 13 years : 2nd, J. H. Davia, Kamo, fawn dog Moss, 6 years ; 3rd, Loftus Austin ; Mr E. Woods' Jay.
