A good etart was effected, and Bnngebah next tbe rails was tho first to show in lront, but was almost immediately steadied, and Insomnia took tho lead from Glonloth, Spokesman, and Pymalion. After a furlong had been travelled, the St. Albans representative was leading Insomnia, Norbert, Glenloth, Camoola, and Bungebah, with Althotas in the rear. Pygmalion was &till showing the way at tho six furlong post, with Norbort second, followed by Insomnia, Camoolo, Glenloth, and Paris, with Spokesman, G'Naroo, and Bungebah close up and packed together. Very littlealtoration took place until the railway side was passed, where the favourite was blocked in next the rails. Pygmalion was making tho pace vory warm round tho turn, Camoola going well second, followed by Glonloth, Spokesman, Paris, G'Naroo, Bungebah, while Althotas was coming through very fast from the rear. Pygmalion was firsb into the straight, but gave place below the distance to Camoolo. Bungebah on the inside momentarily looked dangerous, but tho favourite soon dropped back, and Camoola won in the easiest possible manner by a length and a half from Spokesman, who finished well. G'Naroo was a length away, with Glenloth a fair fourth, and then came Pygmalion, Althotas, Paris, Malvolio, and Bungebah, with Chatham, Insomnia, and Norbert last. Time, lmin 57._ sec.

Caulfield Guineas—l mile. Mr J. B. Clark's Autonomy, by Chester —Aveline, Bst 51b (E. Huxley) ... 1 Mr C. Sommer's Azim, by Newminster —Zuleiko, Bst slb (0. This was a somewhat troublesomo field, and was started in straggling order, Mcli had most advantage, and made the running from Azim, The Captain, Autonomy, and Elswick, with Culloden last. Mcli held command to the back of the, course, The Captain secoud, and the othera close up. As they turned into the straight stretch along the railway side less than four lengths separated tbe half-dozen, and Mcli and The Captain were dividing tbe lead with Elswick, followed by Autonomy, Azim, and Culloden. Autonomy was taken to the front before reaching the home turn, and led into the straight from Mcli, The Captain, and

Azim, with Elswick last. Autonomy came on with the lead, and looked like winning without being extended, but Axim came fast from the distance, and the favourite had to bo ridden out vigorously, and eventually got home by a couple of lengths.
