son, Justices.) Di'.unken'nf.ss.—Ono first ottendor forfeited his bail of 20s. Joseph William Dawber for a second ofTonco was fined 10s, or 48 hours' hard labour in dofault.
Fighting in Cook-street.—John Muthieon was charged with fighting in a public placo on tho 4th of September.— Accused ploaded guilty, and stated that he was attacked by.fivo or nix men and was only fightingin self-defence.—Constablo Brotherton deposed to seeing two men fighting in Cook-stroot. Tho prisoner was uppermost. Witness took him into custody and meanwhile the other man escaped.—A fino of 40s or sovon days' hard labour waa the decision of tho Bench.
Stkay Horses.— William Quinn was fined 6s and 14s costs for having allowod two horses to stray in Victoria Quadrant. —A fino of 5s and costs was imposed upon Michael Briggs tor permitting ono horse to stray in Stanley-street.
Breaches ok By-Laws.—William C. Gowen and Cornelius Lynch wero each fined Isand costs for driving a vehiclo aftor dark without having a light as required by law.—Jamos Fletchor Brown for letting the chimney of his dwelling take firo waa fined Is and cost 3.
