O'Hara Smith,: Audit Inspector, was a passenger by yesterday morningtrain for Napier. 1 believe the object of his visit is to make inquiries, on behalf of the Audit Department, into: alleged land scrip transactions said to have been carried on in the local Land Offices; on the East Coast. MrfSmith will be back in Wellington in time for the adjourned'hearing of the charges againsb J. 8., Whyte and 6. 3N. Baggott, fixed for the 28th inst.
