WIRTH'S CIRCUS.
TUGS-OF-WAR TO-NIGHT.
The attendance at Wirth Bros.' combined circus in Wellesley-streeb on Saturday evening was very large, and an excellent entertainment was afforded those present. Several new items were introduced, and the performance was a very successful one all round. The popularity of the Wirths' big show seems to be rather on the increase in Auckland than otherwise.
This week a specially good programme is to be presented by the management. The chief feature of to-night's performance will be the tugs •of • war for trophies bebween members of local football clubs. No,less than six teams are to take part, and ac the men are all in good condition, some very stubborn contests may be looked forward to. A great deal of interest is being taken in the tugs of war, and the struggle bebweeen the several teams will no doubt be most exciting.
