BAKU OF HOPE UNION.
ANNUAL GATHERING,
The annual gathering in connection with the Auckland Band of Hope Union, to be held in the City Hall on Tuesday nesjtj the Queen's Birthday, promises to be a complete success. It is expected to be of much greater excellence than any previous one, and as one or two entirely new features are to be added to tho programme for this year, the meeting should prove very interesting and attractive. Active preparations _ ike "being carried on, rehearsals having been held twice weekly for some time past, and the total number of participants in the programme is expected to be 500. One of the new features on the programme will be a dialogue entitled "King Alcohol." The dialogue will represenb the trial of several prisoners by the king, surrounded by his officers and subjects, tho subjects being represented by beer barrels. The resb of the programme will consist of action aonga and choruses by the children, pod there will also be. a representation of a fire' brigade and railway train. The final rehearsal takes place to-morrow, when'all arrangements and details will be fixed, fii'd everything made in perfect readiness for Tuesday nighb.
