London, May 17.
The grounds of the petition which will be presented to tho Privy Council in Deeming's case are tho character of tho rae«i cal evidence tendered ab tho trial in Molbourno, and tho affidavits made by tho condemned man's brother and sister-in-law us to his sanity. Deeming's petition will bo presented to the Privy Council on Wednesday and heard on Thursday. Two barristers have been retained to appear in support of the petition, a copy of which has boon sent to^ Lord Knutsford, and to argue that respite should be granted tho condemned man. Lord Hopotoun says thero is nothing to justify delay in Dooming's oxocubion, bub Mr Lyle is proparing a'further petition.
