LORD GLASGOW INTERVIEWED,

WHAT GENERAL BOOTH SAYS,
Adelaide, May 19. Lord Glasgow in the course of an interview, said it was evident on all sides that the frozen meat trade was increasing fast, and tho outlook for Now Zealand was most encouraging. There was, ho thought, no danger solong asGreab Britain maintains the free trade principle of commercial treaties with foreign countries affecting tho trado, tho prejudices against which were being overcome. There was a general fooling among tho people of Great Britain in favour of the federation of the colonies, but ho thought that the question was ono the Australians should consider themsolvea and brinp about in their own way. His Excellency said that General Booth had informed him that tho establishment of a " colony in Now Zealand was entirely dependent on tho terms made with the shipping companies. ..,...... .'., ■ . ■-"••'■■■■■ Adelaide, May 18. Loud Glasgow arrived here to-day. He was rcceivod by Lord Kin tore, Governor of South Australia, and will stay at Government House to-night. Lord Glasgow was received with a salute of 19 guns from tho gunboat Protector. Tho bluejackets formed a guard of honour on his arrival ab Larg's Jetty, and ho was taken in a State carriago to tho special brain ab tho City Station, whoro a detachment of tho Permanent Artillery formed a guard of honour. Tho new Governor of New Zealand wf.3 received by tho Earl of Kintoro. the Hon. C. C. Kingston, Mayor of the City, and a tremendous crowd of people.
