Search had been made for the girl during the last two days, but while Constable Cougblan was on duty in Albert-street at 8 o'clock this morning he found her in the house of Mrs Harrison in a lane off Albertstreet. The girl Harding denied that she had absconded from tbe school, and stated that she had come to Auckland from Wellington. When in tbe lock-up the girl admitted she had taken the articles from Mrs Etheridge, who resides at Campbell's Point, Parnell. At the time of her arrest this morning, the girl was wearing some of the stolen articles.
