NEW ATHLETIC CLUB.
The professional runners and athletes of Auckland have for some time back felt thab they were labouring under disadvantages in Auckland in that they had no meetinsr ab which conclusions mighb be tried between runners, etc.,who were disqualified by reason of being professionals from participating in the Athlebic Club sports. A meeting of professionals called for lasb nighb ab Edinburgh Casble Hobel was therefore well attended. The convener of the meeting wa3 Mr Quinlan, the landlord of the hostelry. Mr Trubshaw was called to the chair. The position having been discu33ed it was resolved bo form a club for professional and obher athletes. The name of the Club is to be the Northern Athletic Club.
It was resolved that tho first meeting should be held in Potter's Paddock, Epsom, on tho 17th March.
