ANGLICAN GENERAL SYNOD.

Wellington, this day. At tho Synod yesterday the interim report (No. 4) of tho Sessional Committee on reports of trustei;? was brought up. The Committee had considered applications for grants from unexpended balance of the general Church trust, the income during the three years beginning July 1, 1891, viz., £180 and £141 respectively, amounting to i','i2i. In all they recommend (1) that £75 be paid towards travelling expenses of clergy who attended the special session of Synod in 1890 ; (2) £50 be granted to bhe endowment of the Dunedin bishopric, conditionally on £150 being raised locally ; (3) £30 to tho travelling expenses of bishops to the present Synod ; (4) £30 to travelling expenses of bishops to Synod of 1893 £50 towards tho building fund of the bishop's house in Waiapu diocese if £150 be raised locally ; (5) £50 to the bishop's house building fund, Wellington diocese, if £90 be raised locally ; (6) £25 to Auckland and Nelson dioceses tor repair of bishops' houses, if £25 be raised locally.

THE TE AUTE SCHOOL,

On the motion of Archdeacon Samuel Williams, ib was decided that the trustees of the To Aute school estate be authorised to apply to the Legislature for an Act to enable them to expend a portion of the funds derived from tho native grant of land to the Te Aute school upon the native girls' school ab Hukarere, Napier, on condition thab the latter school be conveyed to the trustees of the Te Auto school estate, to be held upon trust as a site for a school for native girls.

FUNERAL REFORM

The select commitbee's report on th° subject of funeral reform was adopted by the Synod. At 5.20 the Synod adjourned till 7.30 p.m.

THE oath of canonical obedience.

The Synod resumed at half-past seven when the adjourned debate on the motion of the Bishop of Dunedin. re the oath of canonical obedience to the Archbishop of Canterbury,was resumed. The motion was carried unanimously. THE SIGHT OF WOMEN TO VOTE. In the absence of tho Bishop of Waiapu Sir John Hall resumed the debate on the motion for leave to bring in a Bill to amend the canons in such a manner that women as well aa men shall ba permitted to vote at parish meetings. The Primate ruled that tho point of order raised by Archdeacon Harper when the motion was last before the Synod could not interfere with the progress of tho measure at the present stage, and the first reading was agreed to, tho second reading being fixed for Monday. CHKISI'IANITY AMONG THE MAORIS.

After further debate the Dean of Christchurch's motion with reference to the state of Christianity among the Maori population was agreed to.

TRUSTEES OF TROPERTY

The third in term report of tho trustees of property was considered in committee and pas-ed without material amendment. At half-past nine the Synod adjourned till Monday at three p.m.
