,Per Pukaki, from South :—5,333 sacks wheat, 450 sacks oats, 75 sacks oatmeal, 770 sacks flour, 850 bags flour, 330 sacks bran, 9 blocks stono, 57 rams, and sundries, and 30 tons general cargo ex barque Westland, from Glasgow.
The s.s. Waihora left Sydney yesterday for Auckland.
H. M .s. Garnet called at Tahiti last month from Honolulu for a brief visit.
The ship Brahmin left Porb Chalmers yesterday for London with 5,780 baleß wool, 4,623 sacks oats, etc. ' The Tyser cargo steamer Star of England is due here from the South on the 17th inst. to take in cargo for London.
The Government steamer left Port Chalmers yesterday for New Plymouth, with the dredge Progress in tow. Tho Chilian barque Clorinda arrived ab Tahiti on the 13th ult. from tho Isle de Paques to load copra for Europe. [ , The schooner Awanui is loading here for the East Coast, the schooner Fleebwing foxWellington, and the Waiwera for Picton. A new French war transport vessel has arrived at Tahiti to replace the wrecked cruiser Volage, recently lost in the Paumotas. The little s.s. Pearl (8 tons., from Auckland to Kaipara, passed the Bay of Islands yesterday morning. She is to take up river running on the Kaipara. Captain Skinner' 3 schooner Awanui will sail for East Coast ports on Tuesday next, taking in cargo at the Northcote Ferry tee till tho evening of that day. The schooner Jessie Niccol, Cap*. Bertelsen, after an extended cruise in the Hervey Group left Rarotonga for Auckland on the 23rd ult. with a general cargo of Island produce. The French warship La Vire left Tahiti last month for France via Magellan's Straits, having been relieved on the Pacific station by a new French war transport, tho Durance.
The refrigerating ship Turakina, having taken in a quantity of manganese, wool, and coal here, is ready for sea. She sails tomorrow for Gisborne tp load frozen meat and wool there for London.
Tho Union Stoamship Company's s.s. Pukaki arrived last evening with a general produce freighting from tho Bluff, Dunedin, Oamaru, Timaru. Lyttelton, Napier and Gisborne. She leaves for Westporb tomorrow.
The New Zealand Shipping Company's s.e. Duke of Buckingham is due here from London on the 21st inst., and will sail for London via the South on the 23rd. She leaves Port Chalmers on the Bth prox., and affords an excellent opportunity for fruit exportation.
News from Tahiti by the s.s. Richmond states that last month a small colonial French vessel, the schooner Irene, built at Papeete by Turner and Chapman for the Island trade, capsized one night in a sudden squall fifteen miles off Tahiti as she was lying becalmed. No lives were lost. The schooner wa3 subsequently righted, her masts being cub away, and she was taken into Papeete for repairs. She was owned by Narii Salmon. .
