IMPORTS AND EXPORTS.'

Wellington, this day. The imports during the .quarter ended December 31 were £1,678,080, an increase of aboub £120,000 on the same quarter lasb year. The exports were £1,805,418, a decrease of £439,000. The totals for the year were:— 1891. 1890. Imports £6,503,849 £6,260,577 Exports 9,566,397 9,811,720 The returns of exports show that the fallills' off during the year was entirely in the last quarter, as compared with corresponding quarter of 1890. The items principally responsible for this were :— Frozen meat... ; £96,000 Wool ... , 100,000 Agricultural produce 51,000 Flax 15,000 Preserved meat ... 13,000
